Tension at MBMC over chief guest

Rajbiraj, August 13

Tension ran high at Mahendra Bindeswori Multiple Campus throughout the day today on the occasion of the campus’ establishment day after some family members of a donor padlocked the campus here today.

Late Bindeswori Yadav had donated 117 bigha land for the campus more than 60 years ago.

The dispute took an ugly turn after family members of Lalita Devi Yadav padlocked the campus saying that the campus management had been inviting Renu Yadav repeatedly

as chief guest and was honouring her while ignoring them.

Renu Yadav is the grand daughter-in-law of late Yadav’s eldest son while Lalita Devi is the grand daughter-in-law of late Yadav’s youngest son.

Mahendra Bindeswori Multiple Campus Chief Dr Sarbeschandra Mishra said that the programme was put off after the dispute took an ugly turn.

Campus Chief Mishra said that it was the collective decision of the campus management committee to invite Renu Yadav as chief guest.

Renu Yadav, former education minister, is wife of the only son of late Ashok Yadav of Indra Dev Yadav. Indra Dev is the eldest son of land donor Bindeswori Yadav.

Lalita Devi is the wife of Rajesh Yadav. Rajesh is the son of Dharma Dev while Dharma Dev is the youngest son of Bindeswori Yadav.

When the programme was set to commence, people loyal to Lalita Devi had shouted slogans and padlocked the campus.

Lalita Devi said that they were forced to lock the campus as the college management had humiliated one side of the donor’s family and honoured the other side of the donor’s family.

Meanwhile, Renu Yadav said that she came to the programme at the invitation extended by the campus management. “It is wrong to raise dispute unnecessarily,” Renu commented.
