JHAPA: Police had confiscated textiles worth Rs 1.1 million  on Thursday while carrying out their regular checking  on the Mechi Highway at Shantinagar-6 of  Jhapa district.

According to the Area Police Office, Budhabare, the 13 rolls of  textiles  loaded in van, which were being brought from Pashupatinagar of Ilam to the district on the basis of fake VAT bills, were confiscated on the area.

The impounded van and the seized cloth have been sent to the Revenue Investigation Office, Itahari for further action, police said.
