RAUTAHAT: Kin of late Raj Kishor Thakur, who was killed in police firing during a clash between police and demonstrators on August 25, accepted the body eight days after the incident on Tuesday. They accepted the body after DAO agreed to recommend Thakur’s name for martyrdom. A meeting of the Security Council wrote to the Home Ministry recommending that Thakur be declared martyr. Earlier, Thakur’s kin and UDMF cadres had refused to accept the body demanding martyr’s status, proper compensation, and employment opportunity for at least one family member of the deceased,. CDO Madan Bhujel said the kin had agreed to take the body from District Hospital after DAO assured it would write the Home Ministry.
