Thapa slams House decision
Kathmandu, December 28:
Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa warned today that the parliament’s decision — to declare a republic pending approval of the Constituent Assembly — has “curtailed the rights of the people”.
“You have planted poison today. Don’t expect ambrosia out of it,” Thapa told today’s session of the parliament, adding, “Since the interim parliament is not an elected one, it does not have the right to seize people’s
rights and make decisions on serious issues, including deciding the fate of the monarchy.”
“This parliament cannot dictate the people and the Constituent Assembly,” Thapa said.
