Three cadres of Biplav-led CPN arrested from Tanahun

DAMAULI: Police have arrested three cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) from various parts of Tanahun district on Tuesday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Tanahun District Police Office Spokesperson Shyam Aryal, All Nepal National Free Students Union (Revolutionary) Lamjung district Chairperson Sunil Kumal (25), Mayur Buda aka Ambar Raj Buda (31) and Nepal Dalit Mukti Morcha Tanahun Chairperson Bhes Bahadur Sunwar, were arrested today.

"They were apprehended on suspicion while walking around in the area," DSP Aryal said. And police have recovered donation receipts, political manifestos, pamphlets and other documents from their possession, Aryal added.

Police have intensified the crackdown on the Chand-led party after it blasted a bomb at Ncell office in Lalitpur recently, killing one person and injuring two others.

Ever since the government announced an absolute ban on the Biplav-led CPN, two key leaders of the party’s standing committee -- member Hemanta Prakash Oli and politburo member Mohan Karki have been arrested.
