Three daughters, son-in-law held for murdering father in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR: As many as four persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in murder of their father in Kalika Municipality-2 in eastern Chitwan on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as local resident Bhuminanda Dulal (50) and the accused as his daughters Anjana Dulal, Belkumari Dulal and Apsara Dulal, and son-in-law Tek Bahadur Budha.

According to the Chitwan District Police Office,  Dulal was hacked to death with a sharped edged weapon in his own house yesterday afternoon. Police arrived at the incident site to find the body draped with a white cloth, in Padampur at 5:00 pm yesterday.

The deceased's head and body parts bore multiple cuts, shared police.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Thapa at the DPO quoted locals as saying that the Dulal family were constantly quarreling under the influence of alcohol in the past.

The preliminary investigation points to the dispute over sharing the ancestral property owned by the deceased, as the cause of the incident, said police.

Meanwhile, the body has been kept for postmortem in the Bharatpur Hospital in the district.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
