Three held with drugs in Makawanpur

Police made public three persons arrested for their involvement in smuggling drugs at a press meet in Makawanpur District Police Office today. They were arrested with drugs from separate places of Makawanpur yesterday.

Amarjit Kumar Singh, 32, of Bihar, India; Rupak Rai, 28, of Hetauda, Makawanpur; and Pappu Raya, 22, of Prasauni Rural Municipality were made public.

A joint police team deployed from Province 3 Police Office and District Police Office seized 48.8 kg marijuana from Amarjit’s possession in Tintapke of Hetauda. SP Mukesh Kumar Singh said the police team held Amarjit while he was traveling in a car bound for Hetauda from Manahari.

Similarly, a police team deployed from Pashupatinagar Area Police Office, led by Arun Kumar Kushwaha held Rai with 60 nitrovet tablets from Ratomate  while he was heading towards Hetauda from Birgunj in a microbus.

Likewise, Raya was arrested with eight kgs marijuana while he was traveling in a bus towards Birgunj from Hetauda at Ratomate, Makawanpur.

Police informed at the press meet that they would soon be launching an investigation.
