MALEKHU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Tuesday arrested three people in possession of banned Pangolin scales in Gajuri Rural Municipality of Dhading district.

The arrested have been identified as Jhanka Bahadur Adhikari, Bhim Bahadur Pandit and Ramji Bhujel, all residents of Gajuri Rural Municipality-7 in the district.

A team of CIB arrested the trio and seized the scales of endangered species, from Adamghat in Gajuri Rural Municipality while they were transporting the contraband from the village for sale, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ram Bahadur KC at the District Police Office, Dhading.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the smuggling case is underway and the case will be filed against the arrested ones as per the Wildlife Protection Act, informed police.
