3 Indian men held with hashish, marijuana from Hetaunda

HETAUNDA: Police said they arrested three Indian nationals for their alleged involvement in drug smuggling from Ratamate of Hetaunda-17 on Saturday.

Those arrested in two incidents were paraded at the Makawanpur District Police Office today.

Manoj Sah (30) and Mithilesh Sahani (26) from Motihari in Bihar state of India were arrested by a team of police deployed from the Pashupatinagar Area Police Office during a regular security check at Ratamate in Hetaunda-17 yesterday.

The duo were heading on an Indian jeep (BR 29 B 7141) to Raxaul of India from Kathmandu with the consignment.

The DPO Spokesperson and DSP Bam Dev Gautam said the drug was hidden under the roof of the vehicle.

Marijuana haul

Likewise, 28-year-old Manoj Kumar Yadav, who hails from Motihari, was arrested in possession with 62 kg marijuana from a truck that he was driving today.

Police said they intercepted the vehicle at Ratamate police check post at Hetaunda-17, acting on a tip-off.

With the contraband hidden under seat, the truck was heading to Raxaul of India from Chitwan.

Police said they are investigating into both the cases.
