Three killed, 34 injured in mishaps

Kathmandu, November 18:

Three persons were killed and over 34 injured in separate road mishaps in different districts within the past 24 hours.

A report from Chitwan said 18-year-old Nyaure Sedhain of Chaukidanda of Bhandara-1 was killed and 14 were injured when a microbus heading to Narayangarh from Lothar met with an accident at Chowkbazaar of Birendranagar-2 on Hetauda-Narayangarh road today. Of the injured, driver Dhukharam Chaudhari and a kid, Nideshika, are undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences, Bhratpur, while others are undergoing treatment in the Bharatpur hospital, the Chitwan District Police Office said.

A report from Kailali said one person was killed and 16 injured in past 24 hours. Yogendra Shahi of Dhangadhi was killed when a motorbike collided with a tractor near Geta Eye Hospital last night.

In another incident, 16 persons were injured when a bus heading to Dhangadhi from Kathmandu overturned at Ramsikharjhala VDC-9 on the Mahendra Highway this morning. Critically injured Dambarraj Chataut, Kamalraj Badal, Raj Kumar Shahi and APF personnel Khem Bahadur Bist were sent to Kathmandu for treatment and others were sent to India and Seti Zonal Hospital in Dhangadhi, police said.

In Rajbiraj, one Jakshila Devi Shah was killed when a bus heading to west from Dharan hit the bike she was riding at Panchkilometer last night, the Saptari District Police Office said, adding, Shah’s husband Anirudra, sons Bidyananda and Rupesh and daughter Pinki were injured in the mishap. Bidhyananda and Pinki, who were critically injured, were sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
