KATHMANDU; Three persons were killed in separate road accidents on Thursday night, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) said today.

“Eighty-four-year-old Ganesh Maya Maharjan was killed when a speeding bus (Ba 2 Kha 6729) hit her as she was walking on the road at Kalimati,” the MTPD said.

“In another accident at Satdobato, an unidentified person was killed after he fell off from a bus he was travelling in. The speeding bus crushed him to death after

he fell from the bus,” the

MTPD added.

In yet another accident at Shiuchatar, one Nabin Shrestha was killed after a truck (Ba.1.Kha) hit his motorcycle, MTPD said.

“Bus drivers drive their

vehicles recklessly; they compete with each other to pick

passengers first. Traffic police have been ordered to stop speeding vehicles and punish the drivers as per the traffic rules,” an MTPD inspector said.
