KATHMANDU: Police arrested three suspected drug peddlers in possessing brown heroin from Nijgadh of Bara district on Monday.

The suspects have been identified Hussain Miyan (28) of Lipnimal-1 of Bara, Bishal Jarga (27) of Chaspur-1 in Rautahat and Amit Ghising (23).

Acting on tip-off, a team of security personnel deployed from the Nijgadh-based  Area Police Office arrested the trio  red-handed when trading on the narcotic drug at a fuel station in Nijgadh-8.

Two motorcycles that the suspects have also been impounded.

Four held with pharmaceutical drugs

In a separate incident, four scooter-borne persons, including two women, were arrested for possessing controlled pharmaceutical drugs near Gadhimai Temple in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-7 yesterday.

The suspects are identified as Anup Gurung (27), Sapana Rayamajhi (25), Anil Gurung (32), and Manju Shrestha (27).  They are said to be residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4.

Police seized 50 ampoules of spasmo proxyvon, 75 ampoules of nitrovet, two bottles of diazepam and 100 ampoules of Nurofen  from their possession.

They apparently were heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj on two scooters.
