LAMJUNG, BESISAHAR: A three-year-old girl has drowned in a water tank in Manange Chautara of Besisahar Municipality in Lamjung district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Kritika Gurung, a daughter of Monika Gurung of Gaunbhachok in Besisahar Municipality-10.

Gurung was found by neighbours while she was flailing for life in a 1000-litre underground water tank yesterday according to police. Her mother was shopping outside at the time of the incident, added police.

The locals rescued the girl and rushed her to the Lamjung District Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival, police said.

Currently, the Gurung family had been living at Besisahar Bazaar.
