Top cop tells seniors not to look down on juniors

Nepalgunj, July 8:

A senior police official today directed senior officers not to discriminate against low-ranking police personnel while distributing facilities and in career development.

Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police for the mid-western development region Bharat Bahadur GC said this while addressing the convocation ceremony of 124th batch of police personnel, who passed the basic training, here today.

“The police headquarters has directed all officers for proper inspection of whether facilities and opportunities are fairly distributed among the police personnel,” he said.

Nepal Police is facing challenges as police personnel of lower ranks are increasingly expressing dissatisfaction over the environment and behaviour of the senior officials within the force. This is the result of injustice and exploitation in the police mechanism.This must be rooted out to ensure professionalism, he said.

He also urged the passing out personnel to provide people-oriented services in the changed context of the country.

He directed police personnel to maintain law and order in the society. Altogether 75 personnel completed the training.
