Tourism entrepreneurs take Chinese language training

  • The tourism industry will benefit if even a fraction of people from India and China visited Nepal

Tourism Entrepreneurs in Pokhara have started taking Chinese Language Training as the number of Chinese tourists visiting the city has increased of late.

The Western Hotel Association, Pokhara started Chinese Language training in Pokhara from today. As many as 50 participants attended the two-month long training programme promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board.

Inaugurating the training programme, Chairman Bharat Raj Parajuli of the association said that the association has started the programme after the increase in number of Chinese tourists visiting Pokhara. “We felt the need for Chinese language training among tourism entrepreneurs and staff to communicate with Chinese tourists,” he said. Parajuli said the training programme would help strengthen the relationships between China and Nepal at people-to-people level. “People from both countries will be able to communicate with one another,” he added. He said that the entrepreneurs could provide better service to the tourists if they knew their language.

“The tourism industry will automatically benefit if even a fraction of the total population from China and India visited Nepal,” Parajuli added.  A trainer Leon Huang said he was impressed by the hospitality of Nepali people in Pokhara.
