SINDHULI: A youth was killed in a tractor accident at Bhiman area of Kamalamai Municipality-10 in Sindhuli.

The deceased has been identified as local Kapil Tamang (18), a tractor helper, informed police.

The ill-fated tractor (Na 3 Ta 6097) was carrying sacks of sand from the Chanda River when it met with the accident. Police said the tractor fell backwards as it failed to pull its load on an uphill trail.

Tamang died after he was crushed by the tractor, the Sindhuli District Police Office said.

The tractor driver has been arrested for further investigation.
