MAHOTTARI: A 12-year-old girl died after being hit by a tractor in Gaushala Municipality-11 of Mahottari district this morning.

The deceased has been identified as local resident Anjali Kumari Mahato.

The incident occurred when the speeding tractor (Ja 1 Ta 5541) lost its control and hit Mahato who was walking along the road, killing her on the spot today, according to the Area Police Office, Gaushala.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and the search is on for the driver who fled the scene after the incident, said police.
