BHOJPUR: A teenage boy died after a tractor hit him in Khandbari Municipality-13 of Sankhuwasabha district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Lilia Rai (13) of Chainpur Municipality-18 in the district. Rai was a Grade 8 student in Ratna Ambika Secondary School in Tumlingtar.

The tractor (Ko 2 Ta 4201) heading for Khandbari from Sabhakhola knocked down Rai, fatally injuring him in Tumlingtar yesterday, according to the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha.

The critically injured Rai was rushed to the Mata Manakamana Hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, the Airport Security Police in Tumlingtar have impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation into the case, police informed.
