Treatment denied

Gaighat, June 6:

Udaypur District Hospital today refused to treat an elderly woman who was rescued by policemen in the morning.

The identity of the woman, who was rescued from the ground of the Jogidaha VDC-based Janata School, has not been ascertained yet. “Police took her to the hospital, but health workers refused to admit her saying that her relatives should be brought to the hospital. She has been kept on the floor on the hospital premises,” head constable Jur Prasad Kharel said.

“We tried several times to contact hospital chief Dr Raman Singh, but in vain,” he added.
