Tremor felt in Kathmandu Valley, epicentre in Dolakha

KATHMANDU: A tremor was felt in the eastern and central Nepal, including the Kathmandu Valley and adjoining districts, at around 11:56 pm on Saturday late night.

Its epicentre was in Dolakha district and it was of local magnitude 4.8, according to the National Seismological Centre. 

The coordinates of location where the light tremor originated are given as 27.71°N, 86.05°E.

Earlier today, two light tremors -- one aftershock of the April 25 earthquake in Dolakha and the other independent earthquake in Taplejung , were recorded, according to the National Seismological Centre.

With this, the number of significant aftershocks, of local magnitude 4.0 or above, has reached 379 since devastating earthquake of ML7.6 hit Gorkha district on April 25.
