Tremor felt in valley

Kathmandu, December 1:

An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Nepal with its

epicentre at Sarsing, Rasuwa district.

The tremor was felt even in the valley at around 3:09 pm. Tremor was felt in Kathmandu for three to four seconds, according to National Seismological Centre.

The epicentre of the quake was some 30 kilometres north of Kathmandu.

No damage to life or property has been reported. Soma Nath Sapkota, chief of National Seismological Centre, said the earth-quake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was not devastating.

It may be recalled that last year also an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale with Sarsing, Rasuwa district, as epicentre, had hit Nepal on December 1.
