CHITWAN: A woman died on the spot when a truck ran over her at Simaltal in Kabilas VDC-2 of Chitwan along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Lal Maya Gurung (24) of Kerauja VDC-5 of Gorkha district.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, Gurung came under the wheels of the truck (Na 4 Kha 2845) after she accidentally fell off a bike (Ba 68 Pa 1218) she was riding pillion this morning.

She fell off the bike when the rider, who was trying to overtake the truck, abruptly applied the brake after he saw a microbus coming from opposite direction.

Police said that they have impounded the truck and arrested its driver for investigation.
