DAMAULI: A youth died after being hit by a minitruck in Chisapani of Bandipur in Tanahun district along the Prithivi Highway, on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Bhandari, who appears to be in his early 30s, from Kyamin-2 of the district.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the incident occurred when the truck (Na 5 Kha 7433) heading towards Dumre from Damauli collided with the motorcycle (Ga 9 Pa 5317) coming from the opposite direction.

Police further said Bhandari breathed his last while receiving treatment at Laxmi Hospital of Dumre.

The impounded truck and the truck driver are under police custody for further investigation, according to police.
