A pillion rider, who was injured when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit a motorcycle near the Akala temple in Bandipur VDC-1 yesterday, died while he was undergoing treatment at the Damauli Hospital, police said. The deceased has been identified as Balram Baniya.

The motorcyclist, Baburam Karki, 38, of Bhumrse of Bandipur VDC, is undergoing treatment at the same hospital. The truck driver has been taken into custody at the Area Police Office for interrogation.
