KOHALPUR: A teenager died after being hit by an Indian truck in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City of Banke district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Umesh Shreevastav (14), a student at the Mantara Boarding School in Ranjha.

The truck (UP 7070 E 304905) heading towards Kohalpur from Nepalgunj in the district hit Shreevastav injuring him critically, in Ranjha yesterday, according to the Banke District Police Office.

The injured Shreevastav breathed his last on the way to a hospital, informed the Ganapur-based Police Post.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the truck and detained its driver for further investigation.
