 Tusker kills girl

RAJBIRAJ: A teenage girl was killed by a wild elephant in Saptakoshi Municipality, Saptari on Tuesday evening. The deceased girl has been identified as Satya Narayan Yadav’s daughter Sangita Kumari, 13, of Saptakoshi.

The wild elephant assaulted Sangita when she had been to Koshi Tappu Wild Life Reserve. Local Shyam Ram had informed Sangita’s family after he witnessed the elephant chasing the girl. Sangita’s body was found after a frantic search on Wednesday.

Inspector Meghraj Thapa informed that the body had been sent to Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj for post-mortem.
