KATHMANDU: Police arrested two persons for the possession of controlled pharmaceutical drugs from Triyuga Municipality-6 of Udayapur district on Monday night.

The arrested have been identified as Mukesh Kumar Yadav (20) and Ramesh Kumar Mahato (23), both residents of Bhagawanpur Rural Municipality-2 in Siraha.

A team of police deployed from District Police Office, Udayapur arrested the duo after finding 100 ampules of Phenergan, 100 ampules of Norphin, and 100 ampoules of Diazepam. The duo was travelling on a motorcycle (Sa 7 Pa 8809) when they were stopped at Lalpatta for regular security check. Police also confiscated Rs 7,230 cash from them.

Meanwhile, Siraha Police arrested a person on the charge of possessing seven bottles of 100 ml Dilex DC, 10 Nitravet tablets, and various foreign currencies in Golbazaar Municipality-4 of Siraha. Golbazaar-based Area Police Office arrested local Manoj Kumar Sah (40) on Monday night.

Local police are investigating the cases, informed police.
