KATHMANDU: Police arrested two persons on the charge of possessing illegal firearms from Belbari Municipality-4 of Morang district on Sunday evening.

Police have identified the arrestees as Ashok Rai (43) of Sundar Haraicha Municipality-12 and Kansa Majhi (34) of Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-6 in the district.

A team of police personnel deployed from Belbari-based Area Police Office seized two pistols, four magazines and 14 rounds of bullets from their possession during the regular security screening. The duo were riding on the motorcycle (Ko 17 Pa 4586).

Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway, said police.
