Two buses collide injuring 17 passengers in Kailali; three critical
KATHMANDU: At least 17 passengers were injured when two passenger buses collided in Lamkichuha Municipality-6 of Kailali district this morning.
The incident occurred when the passenger bus (Na 7 Kha 226) heading toward Narayangadh from Attariya collided head-on with another passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 5132) heading toward Dhangadhi from Tikapur injuring 17 passengers aboard the buses, at Bulara, at around 7:45 am today, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bir Bahadur Budhamagar at the District Police Office, Kailali.
Of the total injured, three of them are said to be in critical condition.
A team of security personnel deployed from the Lamki-based Area Police Office (APO) reached the incident site to rescue the injured passengers.
The investigation points to poor visibility due to foggy weather as the cause of the incident, police informed.
Meanwhile, the injured are receiving treatment at the local Lalratna Hospital while critically injured have been referred to a hospital in Kathmandu, informed police.
