Two Chinese nationals held, freed

SANKHUWASABHA: The District Administration Office released two Chinese nationals and a Nepali, who were arrested on Sunday on the charge of providing illegal health service to locals of the northern VDCs of the district.

The two Chinese citizens — Eaimun Ing and Exbhan Ing — and Siddanta Ojha of Khoplang VDC in Gorkha, were arrested while they were providing dental services in Pokharibazaar of Khandbari. Acting Chief District Officer Rajendra Sigdel said the trio was released after investigation.

“We took them under control as they were working illegally without the permit of the district public health office and the government,” DSP Poshraj Pokharel said.

According to the DAO, the Chinese had entered Nepal with the help of Sigdel, who was working as the interpreter for the duo.

They were charging Rs 500 each to remove a decayed tooth.

“We have already informed the Home Ministry and the Foreign Ministry about it,” acting CDO Sigdel said.
