KALIKOT: Two young boys swimming in the Karnali River at Lalighat Jite Bazaar in Kalikot went missing today, police said.

The missing boys have been identified as Mahendra Dhital of Bharta and Ratna Prasad Acharya of Ramnakot in the district.

According to Karmabir Chaudhary of a local police post, Dhital had ventured into the water to save Acharya who was yelling out for help; but both got disappeared.

Police have launched a search operation.
