Two held for slaughtering cow in Pokhara forest

POKHARA: Police in Kaski district on Sunday arrested two persons on charges of slaughtering cow, from Shera Forest in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-24.

The arrested have been identified as local residents Ram Bahadur Nepali (54) and Krishna Nepali (36).

Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from Bagar-based Ward Police Office under the command of Inspector Kishor Lamsal, arrested the duo with head of the slaughtered cow, its legs and fresh fleshes from the incident site in the forest yesterday, according to the West Regional Police Office, Pokhara.

The slaughter of cow,  the national animal of the country,  is punishable under the new constitution of the country.
