Two injured in Chitwan truck plunge
CHITWAN: Two persons have been injured in an accident of a Kathmandu-bound truck, in Chitwan, today morning.
The identities of the injured — driver of the ill-fated truck and his helper — are yet to be ascertained.
The incident occurred when the truck (Na 5 Kha 8979) en route from Birgunj to Kathmandu skidded off the road and plunged 500 metres into Trishuli River at Charkilo in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-4 of the district, at around 4:00 am, according to Chitwan District Police Office.
The injured have been taken to Bharatpur Hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment, said police.
Meanwhile, efforts are going on to retrieve the truck from the river, and further investigation into the case is underway.
