Two ministers face sack

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Tuesday urged CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to recall two UML ministers — Energy Minister Radha Gyanwali and Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel — as both have been accused of abusing their authority.

Koirala told Oli that Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority had instructed the government to take action against the two ministers for their alleged involvement in corruption, said a highly placed source close to PM Koirala. “If you do not call back the two ministers I will have to sack them as per the instruction of the CIAA,” PM told Oli over phone. In response, Oli said he would take appropriate decision after holding consultations within the party.

CIAA had booked Gyanwali for graft in the Solu Corridor Transmission Line Project while Paudel abused authority while appointing Member Secretary of National Sports Council.
