Two trucks set ablaze
Dhading, May 13
An unidentified group today set ablaze at least two container trucks with Indian registration number plates at Chalise of Dhunibeshi Municipality-6, Dhading, along the Prithvi highway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Bahadur KC.
The trucks were parked at the site after ferrying raw materials for Naubishe-based Mangala Cement Industry and they were on their way to India. The incident took place at around 3:00am. Soon after the incident, attempts were made to douse the fire using four bulldozers available in the locality, but to no avail. The blaze was taken under control only after fire engine belonging to Kathmandu Metropolitan City reached the site two hours later.
Both the trucks have been damaged but no human casualty was reported. Power supply has been disrupted in the area as electricity cables also got burnt.
“We are yet to find out how the blaze started and investigation into the incident is under way,” said area police office Khanikhola chief Jeevan Niraula. Police suspect the Communist Party of Nepal might be behind the incident.
