KATHMANDU: Police in Chitwan on Friday arrested two youths on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl.

Ganga Chaudhary (30) and Ajaya Kumar (22), both the resident of Kolhi Municipality in Bara were arrested for luring the girl with money and then raping her in Bachhyauli of Ratnanagar Municipality-7.

A team of security personnel deployed from Bachhyauli-based Area Police Office arrested the duo near Nepal Army Barrack in Ratnanagar-6. at around 6:30 pm yesterday, according to Chitwan District Police Office.

Preliminary investigation showed that the duo had committed the heinous act under the influence of alcohol, police informed.

The rape survivor has been handed over to her family after a medical test.

A case has been filed against the alleged rapists, police said.
