DHANGADHI: Two youths who had gone to take a bath in the Karnali River have gone missing after drowning in the river on Sunday afternoon.

Those missing persons have been identified as Mukunda Neupane (20) and Ramesh Neupane (21) of Tikapur Municipality-9.

The Chisapani-based Police Office has stated that the duo had gone to the river in Pitamari, Mohanyal Rural Municipality for a bath yesterday.

It has been learnt that the two youths drowned after getting closer to a whirlpool in the river reportedly to measure its depth.

Police Inspector Dhana Bahadur Bohara said a search has been started for the missing youths.

The place where the youths went missing is at the distance of two kilometres in the north from Chisapani Bazaar.
