GAIGHAT, MAY 27
Katari Municipality in Udayapur district has decided to provide Rs 25,000 to the families of the locals who died due to Covid-19.
Following the Municipal Assembly meeting held on Tuesday, the municipality decided to provide monetary relief to the family of Covid-19 deceased along with a home isolation kit.
The municipality took the decision to help the locals in their time of need, said Mayor Gyanendra Shrestha. "In case of one or more Covid-19 related deaths in the same family, we will increase the amount of the relief accordingly," added Mayor Shrestha.
To avail the relief amount, the family has to furnish Covid-19 positive test results of the deceased and a recommendation letter from their respective wards.
Similarly, the municipality will distribute medical supplies including medicines, masks, sanitisers to the families that are infected, it had been decided.
Katari Municipality has witnessed five Covid-19 deaths so far.
