KATHMANDU: United Democratic Madhesi Front issued a press release condemning the police firing in Saptari on Saturday night, which it claimed, resulted in the death of four protesters. UDMF said Birendra Kumar Das, Nageshwar Yadav, Shivshankar Das and Dilip Das were killed in police firing and more than a dozen other protesters were injured. UDMF said police beat up hospital staff, citizens in their homes and fired at the public. “The front utterly condemns such undemocratic and fascist action of the government,” UDMF said in its release. It said the government must immediately stop its brutal suppression of peaceful agitation in Madhes or else it should be solely responsible for the consequences of its actions.
