UDMF to intensify agitation

Birgunj, November 20

United Democratic Madheshi Front has decided to intensify the ongoing agitation in the plains.

A meeting of the front in Birgunj today took a decision to this effect.

The front has accused the government and the three major parties of ignoring the issues raised by the Madhesi, indigenous, Tharu, Muslim and backward communities.

As per the decision, the front has decided to continue to shut markets, industries and obstruct vehicular movement on the highways.

Similarly, while the front has decided to take out a torch rally in major markets and chowks on Sunday, it has announced to mark the next day as the 100th day of the Madhes agitation. On the day, it will pay homage to the “martyrs” and observe two minutes of silence at different places across the district.

Likewise, the front has told the schools to ask students to go to school without wearing uniform and to fly black flags on school buses. As per the decision, schools will be allowed to run classes from 6:00-11:00 am.

For farmers, the front has decided to allow farm vehicles to keep 20 to 30 liters of fuel as per necessity. Also, it has urged its cadres to not obstruct emergency vehicles and two-wheelers.

Sadbhavana Party chairperson Rajendra Mahato, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Vice-chairperson Lalbuabu Raut, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Parsa Chairperson Purushottam Jha and Tarai Madhes Sadbhavana Party Parsa Chairperson Premchandra Kuswaha and others had attended the meeting.
