UML fully committed to CA election, says Nepal

Tanahun, July 14:

CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal said today his party is fully committed to help realise the election to constituent assembly on the scheduled date.

Addressing a training on the UML’s views and role to be played by party workers in present political situation, organised in Damauli, he directed the party cadres to go to the villages for voters’ awareness campaigns.

Nepal said his party has decided to participate in the CA elections with the concept of republican democracy and said that unity among eight political parties should be maintained until formation of new constitution after the CA election.

Stating that CA election can be held across the country including the Tarai region, he urged party workers to shun fear. He said that the UML has considered CPN (Maoist) as a fellow comrade.

In the programme, organised by UML Tanahun unit, the party’s central member and Tanahun

Zonal incharge, Trilochan Dhakal, Member of Central Advisory Committee, Muktinath Danal and Shesh Mani Acharya, Zonal Committee Member, Yekbahadur Rana, MP Tukaraj Sigdyal and others expressed their views on CA polls.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference organised by the Press Chautari Nepal, Tanahun unit, today Nepal said the unity among the eight parties should not be broken at any cost unless a new Nepal is created after holding the CA elections. “The responsibility of holding CA polls on the stipulated time is in the hand of eight political parties,” he said.

On action against those found guilty by the Rayamajhi commission, Nepal said his party has

always been demanding action against them.

Nepalis are expecting a new Nepal sans monarchy, he said.
