UML Gen Secy says Tarai issues 'made-up' than genuine

BARDIBAS: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel said that the Tarai issues were more made-up than genuine.

He added that such situation occurred as political parties could not explain features of the new Constitution to the people.

Pokharel blamed some external elements for the unrest in the Tarai-Madhes as they were misleading Tarai-based leaders and they were protesting without minutely reading features of the Constitution.

He asserted that the Constitution incorporated the rights of all people including marginalised and minority communities as well.

The UML General Secretary further clarified that the Constitution could be amended as per the need and relevance. Therefore, the genuine issues related to Tarai-Madhes could be incorporated through the Constitution amendment process, he assured.

Leader Pokharel is scheduled to address a condolence meeting on the 13th day of the demise of party leader Ram Naresh Ray in Sarlahi today, said party central member Shree Parsad Sah.
