UML poll candidate injured in clash with NC cadres in Khotang

 

KHOTANG: A CPN-UML candidate for the local level elections was injured in a clash with Nepali Congress cadres at Diprung Rural Municipality-3 in the district on Saturday.

Indra Tamang, UML candidate for ward chairman in the rural municipality, was injured in the skirmish that ensued over a dispute that UML cadres reportedly tore up party flag of the NC, police said.

Injured Tamang has been taken to Annapurna Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, a family member said.

The UML accused NC cadres of attacking Tamang with a baton during an election campaign.

However, the NC accused UML cadres of tearing NC's flag and replacing it with UML flag from a pole.
