UML students’ wing to widen ambit

Kathmandu, September 20:

The student wing of the CPN-UML plans to be more inclusive by adopting a special provision to include women, Madhesi, Dalit and disabled people.

The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) has decided to select five women, three Madhesi, one Dalit and five disabled representatives from every zone beside the provision on its statute on representation, said ANNFSU president Thakur Gaire.

Addressing a press conference to disseminate information about the 19th national conference today, he said some 31 guests from countries including India, Pakistan, Philippines, Burma, Sri Lanka, China and Vietnam had arrived for the conference. UML general secretary Jhalanath Khanal will inaugurate the conference in Pokhara tomorrow.

Gaire said he will announce retirement from student politics after the conference.
