UN must talk to Maoists, govt: RJP
Kathmandu, August 4:
The Rastriya Janshakti Party (RJP) has suggested that the UN hold talks with the government and Maoists so that it gets a clear picture of the different facets of the issues if it wanted to “break the present state of confusion.”
In a letter handed over to the UN yesterday, the party has suggested that rehabilitation of the displaced people by the world body would also go a long way in normalising the situation in the country.
The party has also said it would be better if the government and the Maoists sign ceasefire and human rights protection agreements to resolve the arms management issue.
Other issues stressed by the party include allowing displaced people to resume normal life, dissolution of the People’s Governments among others.
