Under-construction cement factory damaged by flood in Dhading

DHADING: Flood caused by the incessant rainfall since last Thursday has caused damage to the under-construction Huaxin Narayani Cement Industry at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading on Monday.

Water from the swelled-up Malekhu river entered the construction site of the joint venture located in Talti at around 1:45 am today damaging property worth around Rs 10 million.

The cement factory was being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 billion. After flood water entered the site, it damaged the store room and swept away three jeeps and two bulldozers, stated information officer of the industry, Tulasi Jung Thapa.

The site construction that started four months ago is currently inundated by floodwater, which is expected to delay completion of construction works.
