UNICEF’s call

KATHMANDU: Representative of UNICEF Dr Suomi Sakai has said that the extension of the ceasefire would be of enormous benefit to Nepal’s children and their families. “The last three-month period has given some children and their families the chance to start recovering from the effects of the conflict,” Dr Sakai said. According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, Dr Sakai has said that the present ceasefire has given all Nepalis a respite, and a chance to dream of a Nepal at peace. She has also highlighted the UN Secretary General’s call on the government on November 23 to declare a reciprocal ceasefire.
