Upendra’s sermon to diplomats

Bhairahawa, November 10:

Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav said today that ambassadors and diplomats must take permission from his ministry before meeting Prime Minister and other political leaders.

Minister Yadav said that the present government was committed to putting an end to corruption.

The minister was speaking at a press meet organised by the Bhairahawa chapter of the Nepal-India Friendship Association.

“Diplomats of foreign countries used to meet the Prime Minister and leaders without informing the Foreign Ministry. Now on, diplomats must seek permission from the Foreign Ministry before meeting the Prime Minister and political leaders.”

“A staffer of the foreign ministry will be present at such meetings,” said Yadav.

“Extortion and corruption have been hindering national development,” noted Yadav, adding that the government was committed to putting an end to these scourges.

The minister also dwelt on border disputes in Susta and Darchula.
