US wants peace here: Moriarty

Gaighat, April 18:

US ambassador to Nepal James F Moriarty today said that the United States of America wishes to see Nepal a peaceful democratic nation.

Speaking at a welcome programme organised by the Triyuga Commerce Union in Udaypur, Moriarty said: “Nepalese people wish to see the establishment of a peaceful democracy in the nation. We will always support their desire.”

Meanwhile, Maoist-affiliated YCL activists staged a demonstration in front of the stadium for about two hours and chanted anti-Moriarty slogans. Earlier, at another function Moriarty handed over items worth Rs 500,000 including computers, printers and other things to the Chuhade-based Jana Jyoti higher secondary school in Triyuga municipality.
