Vacant ambassadorial posts being filled

KATHMANDU: The government is soon to make appointments to the vacant ambassadorial positions.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday has recommended names for appointment as ambassadors to three countries including India.

Meanwhile, top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the names of individuals for appointment to other vacant posts of ambassador would be recommended soon. The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee will conduct a hearing on the recommended names.

It is learnt that the Council of Ministers’ meeting has recommended law expert and intellectual Nilambar Acharya to the post of ambassador to India, former ambassador Udaya Raj Pandey to the post of ambassador to Malaysia and joint secretary at the Ministry Krishna Prasad Dhakal to the post of ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
